Hey guys i have the oem 17 rims...235/45r17... i found a good deal on a winter tire set that is 215/45r17... will they be ok to run in winter???

Should work, the side wall is going to be tall, but they should fit

Quite the opposite Lee, they will be shorter and narrower, but they will still work.

Yes it is!
Blake's photo is slightly off though...he has the new tire as a 15" tire, not a 17" tire. I'm not smart enough to post a photo of an updated calculation but the difference between the two is much less minimal. Just slightly over 2%.
I say go for it if they are winter tires and a good deal.

Thanks guys for the help, but I did not get a chance to grab them:-( What about rims that are 5x112 or 5x110 will they fit on my audi? I have rims of my Pontiac that might look decent on it:-)   ?

if they are 5x112 they would bolt on...but then you need to watch the offset (so they dont rub on anything...calipers, shocks, etc)
